GI / KIMONO
The Jiu Jitsu GI is a uniform for training in Jiu Jitsu, Gi meaning “dress of clothes” it is typically composed of a heavy cotton jacket, reinforced drawstring trousers, and a belt which communicates rank. The jiu-jitsu Gi is also sometimes referred to as kimono.
traditionally Jiu Jitsu classes are instructed and train in using the GI, the uniform is used as a tool to develop a strong understanding of core concepts and techniques giving students a strong foundation.

NOGI / SUBMISSION GRAPPLING
NOGI is the name used when a an athlete wears only shorts and a rash guard instead of a Kimono or GI, Although many of the concepts and techniques are the same there are some differences in the approach to NOGI training and learning, For this class students will need to attend with pocketless shorts and a training rash guard.

The Adult program
DC jiu jitsu offers a unique jiu jitsu & Submission grappling experience for those living in the Geelong and surrounding areas. with a very flexible attitude to training and our timetable, we understand the modern world, family and work can course us all to have some time restrictions and make it hard to attend classes. that’s why we at DCJJ Geelong offer a flexible, relaxed and non traditional approach to training. here are just a few ways we differ from the others.

1, All classes are open to all students regardless of belt rank or experience, 6 days a week, morning lunch and night.
2, If you’r late or have to leave early to class NO STRESS we are happy to see you get in what ever training you can with the time you have.
3, Wear what ever (jiu jitsu) GI you like we hold no restrictions on uniforms used at the academy, colour, brand ect.
4, No Lock in contracts, your membership is not locked in and can be placed on hold at any time.
5, Two Weeks free, we offer a nice long trial period for adults and kids to truly see if DCJJ if the academy for you and your life style.
6, Students are welcome to “mix and match” their own training schedule, meaning you’r welcome to attend GI or NOGI or Both through out the training week.

Students that attend DC Jiu jitsu do so for many different reasons, some do it for competition, some for mental or physical health some for fun and some for social reasons but we all do it to enhance our life just a little bit more this is always a common goal, we welcome all those looking to train in a healthy, open and family friendly environment.
