COMPETITION INFOMATION

So, you have been training for a while now and you're ready to jump in and try a competition, that’s great news DC Jiu Jitsu encourages all students from kids to adults to compete as much as they can, we believe competition helps so much with the development for your jiu jitsu, its allows you to set a goal to train towards and its super fun. but it can be a bit confusing to know where to go to sign up and how the prosses works.
so this info is designed to make it all a bit easier for you to navigate and understand.

So first off, not all comps are the same so let’s break it all down.
there are two main types of competitions,

Elimination - meaning if you lose a match, you are out of the comp, if you win you continue until you get to the final.

Round robin- all competitors in the division will compete against one another regardless of if they win or lose, at the end of the event point are totaled and a winner is determined.

Competitions are run by different organisations or business some of these will require an extra fee or membership payment to attend their events, this payment is normally a yearly membership fee that simply allows you to compete in their event.
some do not require a membership fee and you can simply sign up to the event., only paying for the enter fee to the event.

AFBJJ Federation - Will require a yearly membership fee to enter their events

Non federation competitions - normally do not require a membership payment to enter their events and simply sign up and enter the event.

its important that in the area is askes for academy put - DC AUSTRALIA (Not DC JIU JITSU). and for Instructor select - Daniel Cherubin.

After selecting your academy, you will need to accept the terms and conditions of the event, once the is done you can select belt rank and weight division along with if you wish to do GI or NOGI. you will be then prompted to the payment page, pay the entery fee and you are now entered into the event.
